This International Nurses' Day we are celebrating nurses and in particular our Roald Dahl Nurses who care for over 32,000 children and young people with complex, lifelong conditions across the UK. Roald Dahl Nurses provide specialist care and are a vital lifeline to the children, young people and their families. The children under their care often have multiple health conditions, which require lifelong specialist care. Research has shown that this specialist nursing care can improve patient safety and health outcomes, as well as delivering significant emotional benefits to families. Specialist care from a Roald Dahl Nurse also reduces A&E visits, hospital admissions, and consultant appointments.
Although there are currently over 100 Roald Dahl Nurses supporting children across the UK, there are still too many children living with complex conditions who do not receive this vital specialist care. This International Nurses' Day, join our life changing mission to raise 1 million pounds to establish more Roald Dahl Nurses, so that children and families like Max's do not have to brave their illnesses alone.
Together we can make a difference. This May, Do Something Marvellous. There are lots of ways to Do Something Marvellous and support seriously ill children. Whether that's a regular monthly donation, choosing us as your corporate charity partner, or leaving us a gift in your will, every donation helps provide specialist nurses and support for children with serious, lifelong conditions.
